1) How do you feel about the first month of high school? Was it what you expected?

To be honest, this fist month, I feel fascinated about this school. I expcted it to be difficult, and its in-between. But I am empressed on how much I've learned in just one month, compared with middle school. I feel more prepared now for school, because I'm learning how to manage my time, and pass tests. Overall, this outcome isn't really what I expected. I nenver thought I would get good attention from teachers, and have teachers care for what I actually say.

2) Do you feel you can trust this school to do what is best for you? Why or why not?

Yes, I do feel that I can trust this school. This school has great philosophies. I'm shocked and flattered about the personal attention that we get with our grades. I also feel that teachers are very responsible and give good advice. So yeah, I do feel I can trust this school to help me.

3)Do you feel you have earned the trust of the teachers and principals of this school? Why or why not? I do feel I have earned the trust in teachers, because I have showed them that I am a responsible person. But the pricipal doesn't really know me very well yet, so for know who knows.

Today has been a good day for me. It has been going fast though. Well I'm just glad that it's finally Friday because then it means two days off! Hopefully I won't get a lot of homework though, because then that will ruin my week. I'm also having a good day because I'm starting to make new friends. Well this is all for today.

a. Summarize the article
The article was about how green dot public schools have helped many students both in their education and life. The article explains how green dot also brings in lots of families together to be involved in their child's education. For example, they helped some students who were in a gang like Delbert and his friends. But when they got a letter from the mail saying, that they were accepted, their mother said that they would make lots of friends but to stay away from thugs. They then put their mind in school. But one after noon, Denver was shot and killed by a gang of members in a park. Basically, green dot helps you stay advance, and get into good colleges!

b. How is your life experience different from or similar to theirs?
By life experience is very different from theirs because I have never been involved in any gangs. I have also got pretty good grades throughout all of my education so far.

c. What can you do to make sure that you stay on the path to college? What can you learn from the graduate featured in the article?
I can continue getting good grades and score high on exams. I have learned that nothing is impossible.

One of the things that faces me in my life is being so shy. I wish that I wasn't a shy person, but I just am and I can't do anything! People might say that's not true, but to me it does seem true. Being shy affects me because I don't make fast friends or meet new people. Another thing that has recently been bothering me in my life is being picked up late after school now that I'm in in AV. The bus comes until 4:40 so I have no other choice. Unless, I stay for office hours.

What did you learn in the first week of my class?
In the first week I learned a lot on how to use power Flash. It was very new to me, but now I have kind of learn how to use it. I also learned about all of the expectations in order to do well.

What did you learn in the first week of Animo Venice?
In the first week I learned that if you want to make new friends you have to go up to them, because they won't go up to you. And I also learned that you need to trust teachers here at AV if you truely want to do well.

How do you feel about high school at this point?
At this point, I feel that its going to be very difficult with passing all of those tests like cashee, sat, and standardized tests. Then also staying close to my friends might be difficult becuase people always think that they'll find better friends.

What do you need to do so you succeed in high school?
I believe that I should learn how to manage my time. Like if a teacher tells me we'll have a test ahead of time then I should study. I should also do the same for my homework. Then in class in class I should try to take the best notes as possible and turn in all of my work.
